Power Outage Priorities

1. Transmission lines and substation facilities that carry large power loads are repaired first.
2. Next, major distribution lines are repairs to restore power to essential services.
3. Other distribution lines are then repaired, with the order of repairs based on restoring power to the greatest number of customers possible.
4. Finally, power is restored to individual homes. If the problem is in the house wiring, responsibility for the repair may fall to the consumer.
